Understanding Exposure

If you really want to master your photography you have to learn about exposure. When you understanding exposure you will easily understand how cameras work. It might be difficult for you to understand. If you don't understand read it all over again and again.

         1. Aperture
Aperture is how big your camera's lens is open to allow light to enter the camera sensor and. the effect of aperture is depth of field(the distance that your photos is in focus). aperture is measured by f/number or f stop the smaller number the larger of the hole also the larger aperture is also the smaller depth of field too.

      2. Shutter Speed
Shutter Speed is how long your sensor capturing light. if you need to capture fast moving objects you have to have use fast shutter speed as well. If you shoot in low light you have to use slower shutter speed to capture enough light.

       3. ISO
ISO is how much your sensor sensitive to light. Sometime you have to shoot in low light and need a fast shutter speed you have to bump up your ISO. ISO will help you to get more light but you will get more noise as well. More expensive camera is better noise performance too.

          4. How These Things work
Firstly light enter the camera through the lens, some light might have blocked by the aperture. Then camera release the shutter and taken all the light that came through the lens. ISO start determine how to fill up the pixels that have no light entered by the amount that photographer has already set or automatically set my camera auto function.
Finally a photo taken by the camera is an combination of Aperture,  Shutter Speed and ISO. This is just the beginning you have more thing to learn like white balance, composition, type of photography etc. stay tuned my page for more photography lesson and travelling experiences,
